Software Development Manager

·         Grew development team from 5 to 10 while managing the delivery of a new software integration project that is anticipated to save PayPal $10 million per year.  This project required managing resources in both San Jose and Austin while working with a peer development team in Israel.

·         Managing the delivery of three parallel development projects for delivery in 2009 anticipated to save PayPal an additional $20 million per year.

Sr. Software Development Manager               2007 – 2008

·         Managed multiple teams responsible for 2 current and 2 legacy products representing over $15 million in revenue

·          Merged development teams from Brooks Software (acquired by Applied Materials) and previous Applied Materials development team.

Sr. Software Development Manager               2001 - 2007

·         Consistently managed the team through the full Product Development Lifecycle to deliver and support products to increase revenue from $1 million/year to $10 million/year.

·         Expanded the development team, including contractors to as many as 15, and contracted it to as few as 6 to accommodate changing business requirements.  Development team was 13, spread over Austin, Santa Clara, and India 

·         Successfully delivered high value functionality on an accelerated schedule by adding and utilizing offshore development resources in India

·         Brought project that Applied Materials had out-sourced for $800k/year in house, created a more integrated solution and reduced development cost by $400k/year.

·         Expedited data mining application into a full diagnostics application with analysis, visualization, and reporting capabilities.

·         Transitioned to the Microsoft .Net platform, to facilitate consolidating diverse applications and technologies onto a single platform reducing support costs and increasing ease of use.

·         Key member of team responsible for the data analysis engine called “DataBrain”, the web-based interface and the data warehouse used to store all the data.  This technology, in combination with the assembled talent, is what ultimately encouraged Applied Materials to buy out the company.
